First two trips to CDMX in the books.  Here’s what worked for me.  In this post what I packed for CDMX, 5 style essentials for Mexico City.

5 style essentials to pack for mexico city

I had never been to Mexico City and was soo looking forward to it.  Regarding my Mexico pack, the only thing I was feeling was red.  Yep, I was feeling the color red.  So I pulled everything fun red and excited to style from my closet & edited from there.

What are the 5 Style Essentials to Pack for CDMX?

what to bring to mexico city

1.  red lace mini skirt.

This is the one piece I could not wait to wear in Mexico City first time around.  It goes back to all my camp shirts & sweatshirts, and fits like a designer piece should…perfect!  Also perfect for Mexico City, feels vintage-y & lux.  The lace mini was the first outfit tooling around town and also wore a day to a couple of museums.  Mine is by Dolce & Gabbana.  If you’re feeling the red lace mini, heres one here & this one is cool variation.style over 50 influencer

2. Adidas track pant

I mean… I wrote a full blog post on this one lol.  The track pant is comfy, casual & current and fully aligned to the red vibe for Mexico City.  I threw my red track pants on for a day in a gorgeous cultural center for food & art, for an early morning ballon ride over the pyramids and for a late night panucho & taco run.  Here’s where to find these oversized track pants by adidas.

3.  An oldie, but a goodie.

I love giving life to a beloved piece that I haven’t worn in a few.  This time around (or really any time I have a chance to wear on a trip), I packed this DVF strapless knit lips print dress!  Again, strong on the red vibe!!  Do you have a beloved DVF dress?  I mean she’s famous for her knit dresses (because you fill fab in them 🙂 ).  They fit (and pack!) like a dream.  I have 3 DVF dresses I won’t let go of.  I found a few I would love to add to the wardrobe…here, here & here.  And I dig this evening maxi version too!

4. Denim

Denim is a style foundation.  I love the new oversize feel of denim nowadays and especially love my Frankie Shop oversized denim.  But honestly, I could not believe how many times I wore my denim maxi from Reformation.  I’m talking dayzzzz in a row, for coffee. lunch or dinner outings.  Here’s my oversized denim pant of choice and my ultra comfy denim skirt.

5.  Lastly, my tried & true menswear pieces.

For this trip to sophisticated Mexico City, it’s the super versatile COS black sleeveless crewneck tee and my Vanessa Bruno navy silk trouser pant.  Same COS tee layered over the DVF dress and navy silk trouser go back to every other top in the suitcase.  Two thumbs up.
