You Gotta be Jorting : what pairs well with jorts

Jorts!  Who’s up for this?  This post I’m sharing what pairs well with jorts.

These quirky length pants take me straight back to the 70’s when they were called gauchos.  Jorts are definitely not any better of a name, but makes sense, right?  lol gauchos?  lol the 70’s!  This time, I believe it’s the men reviving these funny length bottoms back into the fashion scene.  My daughter shared pics of her guy pals sporting them around town {NYC} and I got a glimpse of them in Paris this past May.

I know that’s all good, but the question is are they a fit for me or for you?  Well, here are my deets … I’m 5’3″,  a size sm, yes I think they hit at an odd spot on my leg, and lastly the jort I own and featured here is high waisted and pleated (I know!  Not an easy style for most).  With those deets, check out how I styled the jort below and decide if it’s a vibe for yourself.

How To Style Jorts

The first and easiest way to wear the jort is to pair it back to black.  This is a simple tip with any of your wardrobe pieces you’re wondering how to style.  Black just works, even when there isn’t a speck of black to match with it.  The black either grounds your look or adds that perfect exclamation point.

Right up there with the black sweater, is it’s counterpart the white sweater.  Check it, just as easy and just as effortless of a vibe.  If you’ve got a white boot/shoe, try it!  I like the pop of color and paired with it with vintage boots I found in Lawrence, KS.

The usual first reaction of a dress over jort is > “uh hell no!”.  I’m a big fan of a dress over pant look, so I’m definitely going to try this pairing.  This look ended up being the comfiest layered look I’ve don on in awhile (the furry mules certainly helped).
